AltiGen Notice : AlitWare 5.0A Support Discontinuation

AltiGen Communications has support for version 5.0A has been extended to September 19, 2008; after this date AltiGen technical support will no longer be available for version 5.0A. AltiGen’s standard technical support policy states that support will be provided for the current version of the product and the immediately preceding version, for all customers on an AltiGen Service Plan.

In Septemeber 2008, AltiGen be releasing the new 6.0 version of the product. Based on AltiGen’s support policy, upon the release of 6.0, only versions 5.2 (which immediately precedes 6.0) and the 6.0 version would be supported. However, since AltiGen has been heavily investing in product development and enhancements, which has resulted in the release of several new versions in the past year, we are temporarily modifying our support policy to include three supported versions – 6.0, 5.2 and 5.1. We plan to continue to support 5.1 until March 20, 2009. In order for AltiGen to continue providing support to our Partners on behalf of your 5.0A (and earlier) customers, those customers must be running a currently supported version of the product. New licenses for 5.0A will also only be available via the product registration system until September 19, 2008. After that date, no new licenses can be registered for unsupported product versions; the customer must be on a currently supported version to add new licenses.

Altigen: Issues with MultiTech CallFinder Cellular Gateway

AltiGen has discovered that there are issues in using MultiTech CallFinder Cellular Gateway with AltiServ. You should hold off on using this MultiTech solution with AltiServ until further notice.

DTMF recognition issues have been reported in the field.

This is an issue that must be resolved by MultiTech; a fix cannot be implemented within AltiWare.

Please do not implement the MultiTech CallFinder until further notice from AltiGen.

WatchGuard Announces Product Localization into Chinese, French, and Japanese

WatchGuard is pleased to announce the availability of WatchGuard System Manager 10.1, Fireware and Fireware Pro 10.1 for Firebox X Core and Firebox X Peak, and Firebox X Edge models. The v10.1 release builds on the features in the v10.0 release, and adds support for three new languages. In addition to English, you can install a French, Japanese, or Simplified Chinese language pack and use our new localized user interface in any of these three languages. Note that data input must still be made using standard ASCII characters and any data returned from the (English) operating system (e.g. log data) is displayed in English only.

There are important things to understand before you get started using version 10.1; it also contains a number of bug fixes for issues reported by WatchGuard customers. Please refer to the Release Notes for a list of known and resolved issues.

Download, test and install this release if you are experiencing one of the resolved bugs listed in the Release Notes, or if you need a localized product in Chinese, French, or Japanese.

Altigen Announces END OF SALES LIFE for Altigen 1G CHASSIS

Altigen has announced that due to technology evelution that they are unable to produce any more 1G-series chassis.

There are only a handful left for use in upgrades and new deals remaining. There is NO replacement for the 1G available and no more can or will be produced.

As a final note, any deals successfully closed with 1G chassis after the 1G-series inventory is exhausted can only be remedied by the AltiGen dealer directly. AltiGen will be unable to provide relief on this matter after the fact.
